A Fiestavus | The big proposition
This year's announcement that Ford would be bringing the Fiesta to the US market has sparked my interest for yet another epic adventure.
Seriously, who better to deliver the new Fiesta to the United States than the foremost American experts on Fiestavus adventuring, the Bad Colonies Motoring Cooperative. I am sure you can envision it, the team reunited, following the path of their former adventure across Europe and Asia. Instead of stopping in Mongolia, we would just keep on cruising to Detroit, hand delivering a battle tested Fiesta to the public. In the process, stirring up a storm of viral marketing to launch the world's greatest wee vehicle.

That Part of the Movie You know the section of any adventure movie where everyone gets demoralized and does not believe they will make it through. We are currently at that stage of the adventure.
We pressed on. Sure enough shortly down the road things went dramatically pear shaped as the road turned into rumble and we were once again forced into the dirt track. Patrick was at the wheel of the Fiestavus and later described the incident as, "The road ended, we were in the air for a second, then there (lots of hand motions indicating swerving), I thought we would get rear ended for sure." Our dreams of Aral were crushed and we were forced to camp in the desert for a fourth straight night.
UPDATE: With the help of Ford, I was able to recover my book, tripod, and camera charger. Unfortunately, the little bit of rubber marble from Bristol Motor Speedway that Hilary and I received on mission 5 was not recovered.
Last night, I went down to the Palladium on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood for the official Fiesta Movement party. It was an extravaganza fit for the grandeur of the program and the personalities. For at least one night, all the agents were stars, bathed in media attention and opportunities to further their brand.
Well, Jen and I are on our way to Los Angeles. We are heading south on 81 until take a right on to 40W and keep going all the way to the big water. This post will give you a running update on our progress, including real time GPS tracking. If you happen to be along our path and want to see the Fiestavus II in her final ride, drop a tweet and we'll try to stop by.
