The three most common questions that I get from people are:

1. How much will it cost?
2. What's it get for mileage?
3. What is Ford going to do to screw it up?

I tend to deflect the first question and wax philosophical on the third (more in part 3). However, I have plenty of raw data to attack number two. It would be a lie to say that I am happy with our MPG so far, it is at least 5 MPG below what I expected. Now as with most things, there is more to this story than simply a number that sits on our website. This is mainly an informational post. If you want further info or read-outs, drop a comment. Cheers - Seth

Stacking 13,013 miles in 45 days seems a tad insane at first and surprisingly enough it turns out to be just that. I worked through the numbers this morning and it came out to around 9 days (217 hours) and enough miles to make it 50% around the Earth. In case those numbers didn't completely register, it means I spent nearly 20% of the last 45 days in the Fiesta. No, that is not normal and this is not your typical car review. Welcome to the first of three blog posts that will focus on the car.

Enjoy.

"it's a think piece about a mid-level band struggling with their own limitations in the harsh face of stardom." - Lester Bangs in Almost Famous

As I wandered through the labyrinth of displays and power suits at AWEA Windpower 2009, I couldn't help but think of that quote from Almost Famous. It just seems so applicable to the current status of the wind industry.

Last week over 20,000 wind enthusiasts descended upon Chicago to inspect the latest wares of the trade. I was in the swirl and sucked up as much insight and knowledge as I could. This piece will break from the convention of previous posts and will be more of a report on the wind industry. Enjoy.

Last week the Beck family piled into the Fiesta and followed in the well worn footsteps of many many school kids and headed to Washington DC. I was in training all week, which was delightful, but the girls sought out the best of the city (or at least the best stuff in the free guide at the hotel). Since I missed out on most of the activities, I asked my 4 year old daughter to describe a series of photos. Her descriptions are in italics with my commentary following each one.
